CHRISTMAS IS COMING, CHRISTMAS IS COMING…. ARE YOU READY YET? I’M NOT, SO MANY THINGS TO DO, SO LITTLE TIME….
TODAY I AM SHARING A MINI ALBUM KEEPSAKE BOX THAT I CREATED FROM SCRATCH. I THINK IT TURNED OUT PRETTY GOOD FOR MY FIRST TRY BUT DEFINITELY HAS ROOM TO IMPROVE. FIRST I CREATED THE OUTSIDE ALBUM WHICH IS 10X10 AND DECORATED IT WITH AUTHENTIQUE VINTAGE CHRISTMAS PAPERS. I HAD SUCH A HARD TIME DECIDING WHICH PAPERS TO USE FOR THE COVER BECAUSE I JUST LOVED THEM ALL SO MUCH….THEN TOPPED IT ALL OFF WITH SOME TULLE, HAND STRUNG BEAD SPRIGS, A GLITTERY SNOWFLAKE, FLOWERS AND A DIE CUT. I REALLY LIKE HOW IT ALL COME TOGETHER…
INSIDE I CREATED 4 SEPARATE COMPARTMENTS (2 – 2X7, 1 – 2X2, 1 – 7X7). IN THE LARGER COMPARTMENT I MADE A 6X6 MINI ALBUM WITH PULL OUT TABS AND SIMPLY ADDED A LITTLE DECORATION TO LEAVE PLENTY OF ROOM FOR THE RECEIVER TO HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM FOR PICTURES, JOURNALING AND KEEPSAKE PIECES. THIS ALBUM IS GOING TO A SWAP PARTNER ON MINI ALBUM SCRAPS SO I FILLED THE REMAINDER OF THE BOXES WITH SOME RIBBON, DIE CUTS, CANDY, HANDMADE BOWS AND OTHER GOODIES. HOPE THEY LIKE IT.
ENJOY AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS……
SO HERE I FIND MYSELF A LITTLE SENTIMENTAL THAT MY OLDEST CHILD IS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL THIS YEAR (MAN WHERE HAS TIME GONE) AND WHAT A BETTER WAY TO KEEP THE MEMORIES THAN THIS CAP KEEPSAKE BOX….. COMPLETELY MADE FROM SCRATCH I CREATED A REALLY STURDY ROUND BASE AND THEN FORMED UP THE BOX. THE LID FITS PERFECTLY AND HAS A LITTLE SLANT TO IS AS YOU SEE ABOVE SO SITTING ON THE SHELF YOU CAN SEE THE TOP…
NO MY ONLY PROBLEM IS TO DECIDE WHETHER TO KEEP IT OR SELL IT AT MY UPCOMING CRAFT SHOW???? I GUESS I CAN ALWAYS MAKE ANOTHER ONE IF I DECIDE TO SELL IT BECAUSE GRADUATION IS STILL MONTHS AWAY AND MAYBE I AM GETTING A LITTLE AHEAD OF THE GAME?????
HELLO. THIS MORNING I AM SHARING A PAPER BEACH BAG I CREATED FOR ANOTHER SWAP. “I LOVE DOING SWAPS…” THE THEM WAS BEACH, SUMMER, PICNIC ETC. SO HERE IT IS IN ALL OF ITS CHERRY GLORY WITH A LARGE RIC RAC FLOWER I MADE ON THE FRONT. ISN’T IT PRETTY…. I THINK I WILL CREATE A FEW MORE FOR THE FALL CRAFT SHOW I AM DOING.
ALSO WANTED TO SHARE THE RIC RAC FLOWERS I CREATED. I REALLY GOT INTO THESE AND MADE SEVERAL STYLES TO ADD TO MY STASH. THE BIG ONES ARE MY FAVORITE BECAUSE YOU CAN ADD A BUTTON OR BLING TO THE CENTER.
I have been really getting into the swaps lately. A while back when I first joined Stampin’ Up! that was the one thing I had been looking for was a community of other crafters I could do swaps with and even though I have met a lot of really talented people and learned a ton of new techniques I still did not have that community. I had seen swaps on youtube alot but some of them required you to have your own youtube channel to join and I quickly found out I was not very good at the videos, so that did not work. Finally I came across the Mini Album Scraps group, read over their platform and wondered about it a while (because that is what I do before making a commitment) but finally took the plung. It is great. I love being pushed to create something I might now normally do and I get to swap my projects with a group of other like tallented people. I AM HAVING A BLAST>>>>>>>
So here is another swap……
I entered this one 2 times. The set above is vintage tea garden inspired and the more I worked on them the more I did not want to let go of them. The set below is more Vintage Travel inspired and think the came out awesome. Here lately I have been on this vintage kick.
How cute is this and so versatile. I created this mini album / gift card holder that could be used for a mini album for a 16 year old girl that loves to shop or a great gift giving card. It opens up like a card, has inside pockets to put a gift card, cash or tuck a note but on the other hand has the look of a mini album with places for photos or journaling. I think this would be a great way to give a shopping gift card or graduation gift that is not your standard card. Just another way to give a gift in a gift (bag).
Look for this and more in upcoming classes…….
Hello everyone. Hope your new year is off without a hitch. Today I am going to share a little bit of organizational options.
I created a card organizer complete with monthly tabs. First I started with a plan box from Michael’s, you know the one that people sort photos in, they have so many uses. Here I have covered the outside with some “My Minds Eye” Lost & Found paper and shabby chic’ed it up with some paper flowers and lace. I think it is pretty but simple enough to add to a shelf.
The inside tabs were made out of card stock and made to resemble file folders using my envelope punch board. Then I covered them with some more from the paper pad. This pad has so many pretty papers and a ton of them, like 3 sheets of each design…….
Sometimes you just don’t know until you try something.
So today I tried to see what I could make from just 1 scrap book page kit. OK so I added some solid cardstock and a few embellishments, but no other designer papers. I picked up this Echo park sweet girl scrapbook kit at Tuesday morning for just 5.99. What a steal….. It had 12 designer cardstock sheets and a sticker page. 2 of the sheets were cutouts and not 1 piece was wasted. So here it is…..
First I made this adorable little desktop photo display. The top lifts up with a spot for some ad libbing and features a 6x6x1 drawer for additional storage.
Then I made (2) 12×12 scrapbook page layouts. The first is has a large shaker frame and is still flat enough to be inserted into an album. The second one features tons of page flags and has tons of color and character. Either one would be a great addition to any album or put in a frame.
After that I decided to create a mini album great for 4×6 photos. The cover is made of corrugated cardboard that has been distressed with white paint and ink and has a beautiful metal rose. The inside is created with craft paper and has 15 pages for photos or journaling. READY TO USE….
Then I decided to take advantage of the cutouts and made a few tags/page embellishments.
With all that being done I still have a few scraps and stickers left I will probably break out when I get around to making some more collage embellishments.
My Oh My, that is a lot of projects from a single album kit and some solid papers. I wonder what I’ll come up with next…..

Good morning. I hope everyone be had a great Christmas. I know I did. I did not get much done in the month of December, we had so much going on with shopping, baking, decorating, basketball and work. About the only thing I got done was a few gifts for my coworker’s. I tried to give them a gift each week leading up to Christmas. The first week was the good boxes filled with candy, then a bag of handmade tags and last but not least, they each got a box of homemade Christmas cookies and fudge. I forgot to take a picture but I think we counted aver 1,000 cookies in 7 varieties, 2 different fudges and orange bon bons. YUM YUM.
So now its a new year and a new plan, so stay tuned for more to come.
TODAY’S LITTLE MINI IS INSPIRED BY A LOGO THAT PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE KNOWS. I THOUGH IT WOULD BE CUTE TO CREATE A MINI ALBUM FOR THOSE SMALL PICS AND A CUTE BOX TO STORE IT IN. THE ALBUM MEASURES JUST UNDER 4X4″.
