GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. TODAY I AM SHARING AN ALTERED PIECE THAT I PICKED UP AT THE SCRAPBOOK EXPO IN ATLANTA LAST MONTH.
FIRST OF I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO GO TO THE SCRAPBOOK EXPO AND IT WAS GREAT, BUT A LITTLE OVERWHELMING. THERE WAS SO MUCH TO LOOK AT AND SO MANY PRETTY THINGS TO ADMIRE. JUST WALKING AROUND AND LOOKING AT THE SAMPLE CARDS AND PROJECTS DISPLAYED MADE ME WANT TO RUN HOME AND TRY NEW IDEAS. THIS IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING I WILL DO AGAIN, AND I CANT WAIT….
SO ON TO THE PROJECT. I BOUGHT THIS PIECES FROM SA CRAFTERS BOOTH. IT IS THE WOOD POCKET WATCH LAYER SHADOW BOX AND IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO HER SHOP HEAD ON OVER NOW, http://www.sacrafters.com, SHE HAS SOME GREAT STUFF. SO AS YOU CAN SEE I LEFT THE WOOD NATURAL AND ADDED SOME PAPER AND EMBELLISHMENTS FOR A VINTAGE LITTLE FRAME. THIS WOULD LOOK GREAT JUST SITTING ON A TABLE. NOW I JUST HAVE TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO MAKE IT STAND. ANY IDEAS?????
Just another quick post….. Today I am sharing an altered mirror I picked up at Dollar Tree. It is a plastic plain jane handheld mirror and I just had to dress it up. I think it came out very whimsical and for some reason reminds me of the move “Beauty and the Beast?”
I have been really getting into the swaps lately. A while back when I first joined Stampin’ Up! that was the one thing I had been looking for was a community of other crafters I could do swaps with and even though I have met a lot of really talented people and learned a ton of new techniques I still did not have that community. I had seen swaps on youtube alot but some of them required you to have your own youtube channel to join and I quickly found out I was not very good at the videos, so that did not work. Finally I came across the Mini Album Scraps group, read over their platform and wondered about it a while (because that is what I do before making a commitment) but finally took the plung. It is great. I love being pushed to create something I might now normally do and I get to swap my projects with a group of other like tallented people. I AM HAVING A BLAST>>>>>>>
So here is another swap……
I entered this one 2 times. The set above is vintage tea garden inspired and the more I worked on them the more I did not want to let go of them. The set below is more Vintage Travel inspired and think the came out awesome. Here lately I have been on this vintage kick.
I’m back with some more swaps. So the theme of today is the beach. These swaps are not due to be submitted until August but I could not wait to get them started. Mostly because I am a little (lot) OCD and when I commit to something I have to jump right on it but I also wanted to try something different to get my creative juices flowing….
Chunky Tag Swap
On these I covered a chipboard pieces with cardstock and then layered on a beach/ocean them napkin. Once that dried it was time to decorate. I added sand to the edges, some twine, sea shells and a charm, but thought they needed a little bling. It is hard to see in these pictures but everywhere water was seen I added wink of stella and looks great like you are looking out over a shimmery ocean. I love how these came out. Hope the ladies like them.
Here I used the same ocean themed napkins to cover the clothespins. They had to have a word and charms and this is what I ended up with. They are group in three’s, so each group has similar inspirational words, 1 beach theme charm and 2 coordinating charms. Not to bad….
Pen Pal Flip Fold Mini
Again using the beach them I created these 3 little flip fold mini’s. They are pretty simple but I wanted to leave room for the person using them to add there own keepsakes. The front is decorated with a shaker made of sand and ocean colored sequins, twine to add that nautical looks and some more small sea shells. The inside has several photo spots also edges with the twine and several tuck spots.
After all of these beach themed projects it make me want to go to the ocean…….
Good evening everyone, sorry for the late post, I usually try to post on Thursday’s but I lost track of the days.
Today I am sharing an altered Dove Valentine tin that I rescued from the recycle and have been hanging on to because I knew that when the time was right and idea would come to mind, and it did and I love them…….Hope you do too…..
HELLO EVERYONE. HOPE YOU ARE ALL ENJOYING THIS BEAUTIFUL SPRING WEATHER WE ARE HAVING.
TODAY I WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU AN ALTERED MASON JAR THAT I CREATED FOR A MASON JAR SWAP THAT I AM IN.
I WAS PLUNDERING AROUND IN SOME BOXES AND FOUND THIS A PACK OF NAPKINS I HAD BOUGHT A WHILE BACK THAT WERE LIGHTHOUSE THEME. SO I DECIDED TO TRY TO DECOUPAGE IT ONTO THE OUTSIDE OF THE JAR AND MAKE A LUMINARY LIGHT. I THINK IT CAME OUT REAL WELL AND HOPE MY SWAP PARTNER LIKES IT AS WELL AS YOU.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. LAST WEEK WAS A LITTLE CRAZY AND SOMEHOW THURSDAY SLIPPED RIGHT ON BY ME BEFORE I REALIZED I DID NOT POST ON MY BLOG, SO TODAY YOU GET 2 PROJECTS IN 1 POST.
FIRST WAS THE BUNNY BOXES I MADE FOR MY CO-WORKERS FOR EASTER. I FILLED THEM WITH LOTS OF CHOCOLATE AND EVERYONE LOVED THEM. JUST ANOTHER GREAT PAPER PUNCH PROJECT. HOW CUTE……..
SECOND WAS A UP-CYCLED CAPPUCCINO CANISTER THAT I WASHED UP COVERED WITH SOME PRETTY GOLD EMBOSSED PAPER AND BURLAP RIBBON. I ADDED A HANDMADE LACE FLOWER AND SOME BEAD STEMS, A FEW MORE EMBELLISHMENTS AND DONE. ALTHOUGH I AM NOT SURE WHAT I AM GOING TO DO WITH IT YET. MAYBE I WILL PUT IT ON MY DESK WITH SOME CANDY IN IT???
I know, I know. It is almost Spring and I am posting Fall/Winter stuff… But that’s ok….
Here I am sharing a snowman / scarecrow reversible door hanging that I have created from paint stir sticks. This will be so cute hanging on my front door soon and saves on storage because it is reversible and I am not having to store 2 separate decorations. My favorite time of year has always been fall and winter so I am excited and can’t wait to see this on my door…..
You can make one for your door also in an upcoming class I will be doing in the “FALL”. You can email me to be added to my upcoming class notifications at firstname.lastname@example.org
OMG. I LOVE THE WAY THIS ALTERED LIGHT TURNED OUT. I PICKED UP THIS OLD EXTERIOR LIGHT FROM A THRIFT STORE FOR $5, WHAT A STEAL. I REMOVED THE CHAIN AND THE LIGHT PARTS AND CLEANED IT UP THE BEST I COULD. SO I STARTED ADDING LAYERS OF PAINT, NOT BEING PARTICULAR CAREFUL BECAUSE I WANTED THE RUSTIC SHABBY LOOK. LAYERED ON SOME LACE AND BEADS, THEN STARTED WORKING ON THE BIRD NEST AND BIRD. I ADDED SOME TINY LED LIGHTS BY WEAVING THEM IN THE NEST THEN STARTED ADDING FLOWERS AND MORE LACE AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE BIRD, IF YOU LOOK CLOSE I ALSO ADDED THE CHAIN THAT THE LIGHT USE TO HANG FROM. I COVERED THE BOTTOM WITH SOME CHIPBOARD AND ADDED THE FEET TO GIVE IT ENOUGH LIFT TO PUT THE BATTERY PACK FOR THE LIGHTS ON THE BOTTOM. OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT THE CRYSTAL LIKE CHANDELIER, I TOOK SOME DANGLE ORNAMENTS FROM CHRISTMAS CLEARANCE AND GATHERED THEM ON SOME FISHING LINE AND DANGLED HEM FROM THE TOP……. FANCY, FANCY………
Good day everyone. In an effort to get ready for spring and the hopes of warmer weather I have created a few projects using a pile of embroidery hoops I picked up at our local thrift store for little to nothing.
First I have made a burlap bunny to hang on my front door for Easter. Love how it came out.
Then I made what I am calling “Paper Crafters Dreams”. After several youtube videos and quite a few attempts I think I got the dream catcher down, added some lace trim to the outside, photo spots and a few embellishments. I like it. Both of these project will be done in upcoming classes. If you would like more information about my classes please email me: email@example.com
Hello everyone. Hope your new year is off without a hitch. Today I am going to share a little bit of organizational options.
I created a card organizer complete with monthly tabs. First I started with a plan box from Michael’s, you know the one that people sort photos in, they have so many uses. Here I have covered the outside with some “My Minds Eye” Lost & Found paper and shabby chic’ed it up with some paper flowers and lace. I think it is pretty but simple enough to add to a shelf.
The inside tabs were made out of card stock and made to resemble file folders using my envelope punch board. Then I covered them with some more from the paper pad. This pad has so many pretty papers and a ton of them, like 3 sheets of each design…….
A WHILE BACK…..SEARCHING THROUGH THE MILLIONS OF AWESOME INSPIRATIONAL VIDEOS I CAME ACROSS A YOUTUBE VIDEO WHERE SOMEONE (IF YOU KNOW THIS VIDEO, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL LINK THE CREATOR BELOW) IS MAKING A STACKING BOX SET THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. I LOOKED LIKE A WEDDING CAKE WITH FLOWERS WRAPPING ALL AROUND IT AND IT INSPIRED ME. I REALLY DID NOT NEED A WEDDING CAKE BUT I WANTED A LITTLE STORAGE BOX FOR MY DESK AT WORK. SO I PULLED A FEW PIECES FROM MY VAST PAPER COLLECTION AND GOT STARTED. AFTER PAINTING, COVERING AND INKING I REALLY DID NOT WANT TO COVER UP THAT GREAT PAPER SO I JUST ADDED A FEW FLOWERS AND TOPPER. REMEMBER THOSE CLEAR FLOWERS FROM MY EARLIER “KEEP THOSE EYES OPEN” POST????
HAVE YOU EVER GOT A PAD OF PAPER THAT YOU JUST CANT PUT DOWN. IF YOU HAVE YOU’LL KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT….. THIS GRAPHIC 45 A CHRISTMAS CAROL PAD IS JUST ABSOLUTELY FULL OF BEAUTIFUL PAPER AND EVERY TIME I PICK IT UP I THINK OF ANOTHER PROJECT. I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT I MEAN BELOW……
HERE I HAVE USED ONE OF THE CUTOUT PIECES TO CREATE A BOOK. I CREATED THE COVER AND THEN LAYERED SOME VINTAGE LOOKING PAPERS TO CREATE THE PAGES, CAREFULLY ADHERING EACH ONE TO CREATE THE OPEN BOOK EFFECT AND USING THE CUTOUT FOR THE TOP PAGE, CREATED A BURLAP BASE, ADDED SOME SNOW AND DECORATIONS AND LOOK AT WHAT I COME UP WITH. A GREAT DESKTOP CHRISTMAS DISPLAY. LOVE IT……..
OK BACK TO THE MANY USES OF THE GRAPHIC 45 PAPER PAD. HERE WE WILL LOOK BACK AT A FEW PROJECTS I HAVE COMPLETED USING ONLY ONE (1) GRAPHIC 45 PAPER PAD AND ONE (1) PACK OF COORDINATING CUTOUTS. AND THE BEST PART OF ALL IS IS STILL HAVE A TON OF PAPER LEFT. WHO KNOWS I MAY CREATE SOME MINI EMBELLISHMENTS.

HELLO EVERYONE, I HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A GOOD FEW WEEKS. I KNOW I HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MISSING IN ACTION FOR THE LAST MONTH OR SO, BUT I DO HAVE A GOOD REASON. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET OUR HOUSE READY TO PUT ON THE MARKET, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN…… PAINTING, CLEANING, DE-CLUTTERING THE NORMAL STUFF. YOU JUST DON’T REALIZE HOW MUCH STUFF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE UNTIL YOU START PACKING SOME OF IT UP FOR STORAGE.
OK, SO EVEN IN ALL THE PACKING AND CLEANING I HAVE MANAGED TO PUT TOGETHER A FEW PROJECTS AND HERE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. THIS IS AN ALTERED LARGE STAMPIN’ UP! GIFT BOX THAT I HAVE DECORATED UP. THE INSIDE HAS A SPOT TO HOLD PENS, NOTECARDS, BILLS & ETC. TO MAKE THE MONTHLY DIVIDERS I USED GRAPHIC 45 “A TIME TO FLOURISH” AND I MUST SAY I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED THIS PAPER PAD AND HAVE GOTTEN SEVERAL PROJECTS OUT OF A SINGLE 12 X 12 PAD. YOU COULD USE THE MONTHLY DIVIDERS FOR BILL ORGANIZATION, GREETING CARDS AND MORE.
OK FOR A LITTLE SPIN ON MY “KEEP THOSE EYES OPEN” POST. TODAY I AM ALSO USING AN EVERYDAY HOUSEHOLD ITEM AND ALTERING IT INTO SOMETHING AWESOME. CHECK IT OUT:
OK, SO I BET YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER GUESSED I WOULD BE USING EGG CARTONS TO CREATE THESE CUT LITTLE COMPARTMENT BOXES THAT I WILL GIVING AS GIVE AWAY PRIZES AT SOME OF MY UPCOMING SALES. I PAINTED THEM AND ADDED SOME PAPER, EMBELLISHMENTS AND RIBBONS TO FINISH OFF THE BOX AND THEN INSIDE I ADDED A PLETHORA OF GOODIES FOR THE RECEIVER TO CREATE THERE OWN PROJECTS.
OK I AM INTRIGUED BY THESE CLOCKS. I FIRST SPOTTED THEM ON PINTEREST AND JUST HAD TO TRY ONE BUT THERE ARE NOT ANY CRAFT STORES NEAR WHERE I LIVE WITHOUT DRIVING 30 MINUTES OR MORE AND I WAS NOT SURE WHERE TO GET ONE, SO I STARTED LOOKING AROUND AT THRIFT STORES AND FLEA MARKETS HOPING TO RUN ACROSS ONE I COULD DIS-ASSEMBLE AND DID NOT HAVE ANY LUCK. ONE DAY I DECIDED TO GO FOR A RIDE AND WENT INTO A LITTLE PRIVATELY OWNED SCRAPBOOK STORE IN FRANKLIN, NC AND AS I WAS PAYING I LOOKED OVER AND IT WAS LIKE A RAY OF SUNSHINE IN THE FRONT GLASS WINDOWS SHINING ON THESE CLOCKS, SO NATURALLY I HAD TO LOOK. I ENDED UP BUYING 2 AND THIS IS WHAT THEY TURNED OUT LIKE. I WAS RATHER IMPRESSED FOR MY FIRST CLOCKS. SINCE THEN I HAVE PICKED UP A COUPLE MORE AS I SEE THEM ON SALE AND I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AROUND AT OTHER CLOCKS, IN ALL KIND OF SHAPES AND MY IMAGINATION JUST GOES WILD WITH IDEAS. WHO KNEW!!!
FIND THESE AND MORE ON MY ETSY SHOP, JUST CLICK HERE:
OK WHILE I WAS PLAYING IN THE PINK PAINT LAST WEEK I DECIDED TO PAINT A VARIETY OF THINGS AROUND THE HOUSE AND ALTER THEM INTO SOME REALLY CUTE SHABBY CHIC DECORATIONS. HERE I HAVE PAINTED THE HANDLE OF A PAINT BRUSH AND DECORATED WITH LACE, RIC RAC PAPER FLOWERS AND SOME STAMPIN’ UP! FLAT BACK PEARLS. I AM REALLY LIKING THE WAY MY SHABBY CHIC PROJECTS ARE COMING OUT LATELY AND I MAY HAVE A FEW MORE COMING, SO STAY TUNED AND BE SURE TO CHECK BACK.
